That is a minipet, is is not a ranger pet, the different being ranger pets follow you around and help you fight, mini pets are items that just hang around with you and do nothing. Minipets are either traded with other players for or you will get one when one of your characters becomes 1 year old, and every year after. The asuran minipet was a giveaway from an issues of pc gamer i believe you would prolly have to trade for it. Ranger pets are tamable from various places around the world
